Frequently asked
questions

Here are some common questions about our services. If you have any other inquiries, feel free to reach out—I'm here to help guide you on your journey to healing.

There is no straight answer for this. It all depends on what is bringing you to therapy. Once you meet with your therapist and they learn more about your concerns, you can discuss together what makes sense for you.

This is up to each individual therapist. Most sessions last between 25-55 minutes.

Virtual sessions take place through a HIPAA-compliant online platform. You will receive more information about how to access these sessions once you agree to work with a therapist. Please note that clients must be in the state of Pennsylvania, NJ, TX and or N.C. for therapists to hold sessions.

Each person has different issues and goals for counseling, it will be different depending on the individual. We tailor my therapeutic approach toy our specific needs.

We are so glad you are dedicated to getting the most out of your sessions.  Your active participation and dedication will be crucial to your success.

We do not prescribe medication at this time.

Rates for sessions are between $100-$1,500 depending on the service you are receiving. Sliding scale fees are based on on several factors and can be discussed during a phone consultation.

Insurance companies do not cover extensive services at this time, it will be an out-of-pocket cost

I am in network with many insurance plans such as Aetna, Highmark, BCBS, Cigna, Imagine 360, Optum and United Health.  If I am not in network with your insurance plan I can provide a “Superbills” (or itemized receipts) which clients can submit to their insurance company for potential reimbursement.

If you are looking to find out about getting reimbursed for mental health services, we recommend calling your insurance company and asking the following questions:

  • Does my plan include “out-of-network” coverage for mental health services?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit how many therapy sessions I can have per calendar year? If so, what is this number?
  • Is there any other information I will need to receive reimbursements, such as a written letter of approval from my primary care physician? Item description

The office is currently ADA-accessible. There is a ramp and elevators to reach the office.

No. If you are in NJ, TX, or PA you can be seen.  I currently hold a license in the indicated states.  North Carolina licensure is pending however, I have a temporary approval until the application is completed.  If you are in N.C., you can be seen also.  The office for in-person sessions is in Pennsylvania, clients need to be in one of the stated states to work together. This is true for both in-person and virtual sessions for therapy ONLY.  If you are seeking energy healing or hypnosis you can be anywhere in the world.

As of 2025 I am allowing one missed appointment per year per person.  After the one missed appointment a full fee will be charged to the credit card on file for missed appointments that have not been canceled at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment. Should you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment you may call our office at (856) 237-4476 and leave a message or cancel via email at emendingcouneling@gmail.com. Messages and emails must be received 24hours before the scheduled appointment time.

The difference is between someone who can do something, and someone who has the training and experience to do that same thing professionally. A mental health professional can help you approach your situation in a new way– teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself.

Counseling is completely confidential. You won’t have to worry about others knowing your business. Lastly, if your situation provokes a great deal of negative emotion, and you’ve been confiding in a friend or family member, there is the risk that once you are feeling better you could start avoiding that person, so you aren’t reminded of this difficult time in your life.

Medication can be effective, but it alone cannot solve all issues. Sometimes medication is needed in conjunction with counseling. Our work together is designed to explore and unpack the problems you are experiencing and expand on your strengths that can help you accomplish your personal goals.
